Measurement
This was our Measurement Lab. It was an introduction to measuring in chemistry class. In chemistry we were told that they do a lot of measuring with beakers, flasks, etc. and we were told that every year kids can't measure right so our teacher came up with this mini lab. In this lab we had to measure different amounts of colored water in different chemistry equipment for example different kinds of flasks and beakers. On the left side is a picture of all the measurements that we took. We also took weight measurements of shells and length measurements of paper and trays. The main thing that we were told is that we could only guess one number from the amount, so if water was placed in a 400ml beaker and the water was in between 200 and 220 we were allowed to guess anywhere in between that depending on what number the water was closer to, so this was really an estimated guess. We were also told that when you measure water in tubes or beakers the water has a curve like shape. You have to measure at the bottom point of that curve. I feel that this mini lab was a great intro to measurement and actually learning how to measure. It will definitely help in the future to get more precise measurements from data samples and other things that are similar.
