Spanish Proverb
In this Spanish proverb project we were told to pick a proverb that describes a lesson that we learned in the past. Like many other projects we do at High Tech High this one required many steps and drafts. We did many English versions before translating to Spanish to fully understand what our proverbs significance was and we tried to focus on writing in the past tense. The reason for writing in the past is because we studied the Imperfect and Preterite tenses in Spanish. Preterite is generally used when talking about a completed action in the past while Imperfect tense is used for on-going actions that occurred in the past that you probably still do. Below is my English/Spanish Final Essay for my Proverb.
“Vive Tu Vida Al Maximo”
Live Life To The Fullest
Faris Livingstone

To me it means that you have to enjoy every second of life because you don’t know when your last day will be. I learned this lesson when I was about 10 or 11 years-old.
There was a time that I was afraid of every single ride at adventure parks, roller coaster, spinny rides, and anything that went really fast or upside down. One day I went to Universal Studios and was afraid of going on all the fast and scary rides. I wanted to face my fears and not have to deal with those fears when I wanted to have fun. I do not want to be that “coward boy” sitting aside waiting for their friends and cousins in adventure parks.
I was afraid of taking risks and I really did not like doing new things. Every time we would go on new rides or large roller coasters I would always opt out from riding on it. I would end up waiting for the ride to end.
Now I'm not afraid to get on other adventurous rides or go on rides with my friends and my family.

Along with the essay above we were also told to create an art piece for our project that would then be displayed on a "Day Of The Dead" themed exhibition. This part required many steps, we took pictures of our face, thought of a day of the dead face paint design, drew the face on a canvas and then finally painted it.
